WESTBOROUGH, MA. Learning Express Toys, the nation’s largest educational toy franchise, welcomes new owners Lauren and Mike Derse to its Westborough location. The toy store temporarily closed in June when previous owner Tina Jacobson retired and moved out of state. The new owners plan to re-open July 24.
To celebrate, the store will hold a Grand Re-Opening Sept. 8-10 with appearances by Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig and Moana, as well as balloon animals, face painting and many more activities.
Lauren and Mike Derse own Learning Express Toys of Bedford, as well as Learning Express Play, a children’s play space and activity center, which both opened in September 2016. As parents of two preschool-aged boys, the Derses know the value of what Learning Express offers: expert toy advice, a great selection of toys to inspire growth and free family events that make memories.
“We are excited to meet the Westborough community and to welcome existing customers back to the store. We are unpacking exciting new products every day, and launching a full calendar of events. We hope to introduce many new Worcester County families to Learning Express!” Lauren Derse said.
Manager Tracy Kaufman and the existing staff will be staying on at Learning Express of Westborough.
“Our customer service and selection will be better than ever,” Kaufman said. “We will be back in time to finish out a fun summer, and for kids to get their back-to-school goodies.”
Customers are already looking forward to the re-opening.
“I’m excited that the Learning Express is back in my community! It’s my go-to place where I can expect a friendly face, quality recommendations, and a wide variety of toys for all ages,” said Aimee Somelofske, a mom of two from Grafton.
